Delete your Cotake account
Cotake is made by Nsibidi Labs LLC. You can delete your account and its data at any time, in the app or by email.
In the app (immediate)
- Open Cotake and tap your avatar on the home screen to open Settings.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
Deletion happens straight away. It can't be undone.
Without the app
Email support@cotake.app with the subject "Delete my Cotake account", your display name, and the name of an event you were in. We'll confirm it's your account and delete it within 30 days, usually much sooner, and reply when it's done.
What is deleted
- Your profile: your display name, avatar and sign-in identifiers.
- Every event you host, with its shot list and everyone's clips and films in it. Their share links stop working.
- Your clips in other people's events. Films that showed them are remade without them, or deleted if nothing else is left.
- Your memberships in other events, the people you blocked or who blocked you, and your sign-in sessions.
- If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Cotake's access to your Apple ID. If you signed in with Google, you can also remove Cotake from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/connections.
Files are removed from storage straight away, and checked again within about 20 minutes for any upload that was still on its way.
What is kept, and for how long
- Reports you filed, and reports about you, stay with our moderators without your name on them, and are deleted one year after they're closed (sooner if the event they're about is deleted).
- If your account was suspended for abuse, we keep a one-way hash of its sign-in identifier so it can't simply sign up again.
- Cloudflare, which hosts Cotake, keeps request logs for a few days.
- Copies already saved outside Cotake, such as a film someone downloaded, are out of our reach.
To delete single clips or leave an event without deleting your account, see Help & Support. The Privacy Policy has the full details.
